Goodnews International American School (Day and Boarding) is a co-education private center in Asaba/ Okpanam equipped to give student quality education, career, guidance and knowledge of God. The school consists of Creche, Nursery, Primary, Middle and High school. The pupils of the school benefit from excellent teaching in a conducive environment.
They have large access to a huge range of opportunities, designed to have them gain entrance to tertiary institutions in the United States of America. In GIAS, children are not trained to learn by force or harshness but are directed to do it by what amuses their minds so that they may be better and able to discover with accuracy, the peculiar bent of the genius of each other, putting into cognizance that education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world.

A MORAL SCHOOL
Goodnews International American School kicks against vices such as cultism, thuggery, drug abuse, immoral acts, etc. Such can never be found in the school. Our job as parents and partners, is preparing children. Preparation is much more than just teaching. We prepare children to fulfil God’s purpose for them. Every man, woman and child was created by God with unique purpose. In the course of their education, it is our desire that students start to identify, prepare for and live out that purpose. Our school fosters community involvement, enhancing student learning and growth through various collaborative projects and initiatives that encourage teamwork and creativity.
ADMISSION
Eligibility
Goodnews International American School accepts students aged 5 to 18 years for preschool to 12th grade. There are no entrance exams. Admission is based on previous school records and interviews.
Deadline
Applications open in November for the next academic year starting in August. We encourage early applications as there are limited seats available.
Criteria
The admissions committee reviews each applicant holistically based on prior academic performance, interview feedback, extracurricular activities etc.
Process
The admission process involves submitting an online application, taking admission assessments, and attending an interview. Offers are made based on availability of seats.
Curriculum
The curriculum is based on the Nigerian and US Common Core standards programs. There is a focus on STEM and sports.

Our staff members have advanced degrees from renowned universities globally with years of experience teaching international curriculum.
Assessments
There are formative and summative assessments throughout the year. External exams are held in 10th and 12th grade by certified boards.
